I started blogging again to talk about the journey I have made in founding Eternal Threads and the journey of our mission. I started thinking about that journey when I returned to my home state of Nebraska. Someone said, “You can’t go home again”, but I’m hoping that’s not true. One of the reasons I did move back was to be able to enjoy the four seasons again which I have missed so much….especially fall. Well, there was no fall this year!!! Ha Ha! Oh well, maybe next year. Just a reminder that you can’t have it all. Here’s a photo of our new “digs” in Nebraska.
I’ve struggled with thinking about what I wanted to write this time, but I think I want to share with all of you where Eternal Threads is right now because we have the greatest supporters in the world. I didn’t blog this summer because I was so busy getting ready for the NYNOW merchandise mart with the hopes of picking up some wholesale customers. It was great to see other Fair Trade organizations that share our mission.
While I was there I decided to try and help some others who have a similar mission to ours by buying some of their products. It was a blessing to them and it will give us some new products on our website for the gift buying season. One of them is a young woman from India who is doing the most amazing things with Indigo blue fabric. You’ll love her products…I was blown away! Another one of the organizations works with trafficking victims in Thailand. The products will be on the site soon and I think you will be pleased with some of the choices. I’ll send out a newsletter and FB when they are all loaded on the site. We are also doing some upgrades to our site which will be helpful for those shopping. Watch for the great changes. Here’s a new “Faith~Hope~ Love” bangle we’ll be offering ~
Instead of going back to a story in the past, I want to talk to you about the future. I really want to ask your prayers that we will have a great gift buying season this fall and that an end-of-year fundraising campaign will be successful. We will be doing GIVING TUESDAY (the Tuesday after Thanksgiving) so watch for FB and newsletters about that….please share with others if you can. We have reinstated a new HOST A SALE program with three great options for any event you might be doing. If you know of anyone who has a shop and would like to be a WHOLESALE partner, please send them to us. Pray for shoppers and for NEW donors…especially MONTHLY DONORS!
I also need your prayers on some decision making. Should I try and have a retail space again here in Nebraska? It’s a big decision so I’m asking for a lot of guidance with that.
God has done the most amazing things in our mission…sometimes the staff and I just looked at each other and knew something just happened that had nothing to do with us! I am in complete trust that could happen again, but I know that God works through others which is why I’ve decided to bring these requests to you. Please send us any thoughts or feedback.
